G.I Joe: The Rise of Cobra - The Biggest Hit of The Year.

By Saisha Jones

Were you anticipating yet another G.I JOE movie with all the action & the adventure? Have you been a G.I JOE fan all along?

You will be happy to know that the most awaited film of the year is back with a bang. Directed by Stephen Sommers (The Mummy, Van Helsing), G.I. JOE: The Rise of Cobra stars an interesting young cast including Sienna Miller (Factory Girl), Channing Tatum (Public Enemies), Joseph Gordon-Levitt ((500) Days of Summer), Marlon Wayans (Dance Flick), Rachel Nichols ("Alias") and Ray Park (X-Men) as well as veteran actors Dennis Quaid (Vantage Point) and Christopher Eccleston (Gone in Sixty Seconds).

G.I Joe: The Rise of Cobra is a 2009 American live-action film adaptation of the G.I. Joe toy franchise, the story follows two American soldiers, Duke and Ripcord, who join the G.I. Joe Team after being attacked by MARS troops. Filming took place in Downey, California and Prague's Barrandov Studios, and six different companies handled the visual effects.

The plot of the movie starts with the Scotsman Klan McCullen being accused of selling weaponry to both the Scots and French. Rather than being executed for treason, the jury brands his face with a white-hot mask in order to humiliate him. In the near future, weapons expert James McCullen (Christopher Eccleston) creates a nanotechnology-based weapon capable of destroying an entire city. His company MARS sells four warheads to NATO, and the U.S. Army is tasked with delivering the warheads. Duke (Channing Tatum) and Ripcord (Marlon Wayans) are delivering the warheads when they are ambushed by the Baroness (Sienna Miller), who Duke recognized to be his ex-fiance Ana Lewis. Duke and Ripcord are rescued by Scarlett (Rachel Nichols), Snake Eyes (Ray Park) and Heavy Duty (Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje). The warheads are taken to The Pit, G.I. Joe's command center in North Africa, and upon arriving rendezvous with General Hawk (Dennis Quaid), the head of the G.I. Joe Team. Hawk takes command of the war-heads and excuses Duke and Ripcord, only to be convinced to have them join his group after Duke reveals that he knows the Baroness.

The G.I. Joe team travels the world from the Egyptian desert to the polar ice caps and the streets of Paris in a high stakes pursuit of COBRA, an evil international organization threatening to use a technology that could bring the world to its knees. Armed with the coolest hi-tech gadgets and weapons, including jaw-dropping accelerator and camouflage suits, G.I. JOE is the last line of defense against those intent on world domination

The filming of this movie began on February 11, 2008, in Los Angeles, California. The Downey sound-stage was chosen as Paramount needed a large stage to get production underway as soon as possible. The first two levels of the Pit were built there, to complement the rest of the building which would be done with special effects. Downey also housed Destro's MARS base in the Arctic, his legitimate weapons factory in an ex-Soviet state, as well as various submarines interiors, including a SHARC (Submersible High-speed Attack and Reconnaissance Craft) manned by two G.I. Joes.

Six different visual effects companies worked in The Rise of Cobra, the most prominent being Digital Domain, which handled the Paris action, sequences and the opening convoy sequence. For the Eiffel Tower destruction, a special code for depicting how the crumbling metal works was written. To create the digital Eiffel Tower, the technicians had access to the original building plans, and built a digital model so complex that could not fit in a single file. The nanomites used two different proprietary software for their depiction, one by Digital Domain, and another by, which also created tools to generate 3D cloud and sky environments for the aerial scenes. Many scenarios were almost fully developed by computer-generated imagery, such as the landing platform of the Pit, the Cobra ice caverns, and the final underwater battle.

G.I. Joe: The Rise of Cobra is a mind-blowing movie with all the latest effects & adventures. G.I JOE was the biggest hit which ruled the box office for years & its sequel is creating a widespread craze all over. - 29943

Oakland Shocks Visiting Philadelphia For Second Win Of NFL Season

By Ross Everett

The Oakland Raiders scored the only touchdown of the game in the first quarter and then prevailed in the kicking duel that followed en route to a--9 upset of the visiting Philadelphia Eagles. Much maligned quarterback Jamarcus Russell played his best game of the season despite two interceptions, throwing for 224 yards and a touchdown. It was only the Raiders' second win of the season, and only the Eagles' second loss. Oakland now stands at 2-4 while Philadelphia slid to 3-2.

NFL betting enthusiasts who backed the Raiders as a whopping +14 home underdog were never in any trouble as Oakland took the lead late in the first quarter and never relinquished it. Oakland evened their mark against the NFL pointspread at 3-3, while the Eagles dropped to 3-2 against the number. The 22 points scored went well UNDER the posted total of 40'.

After the game, Raiders' coach Tom Cable said for the first time all season his team focused their intensity in the right direction:

"We went out and threw a fight on somebody and said, 'Enough. Let's play. That's all you can say. There's no magic words or anything like that."

Last week's 44-7 loss to the New York Giants may have served a wakeup call to the Raiders. In particular, they were offended by comments made by Giants' linebacker Antonio Pierce that the game 'felt like playing a scrimmage'. Raiders' wide receiver Louis Murphy didn't dispute the comments but instead took them to heart:

"That gave me extra fuel. You have to look yourself in the mirror and man up. His comments were true. We played flat. We didn't play with any emotion. This game was totally different. We took those comments to heart."

The Raiders' defense received the bulk of the credit for the victory as they pressured Donovan McNabb all day, sacking him six times. The Eagles became the first team in three years to not score an offensive touchdown against the Raiders. Richard Seymour and Trevor Scott each had a pair of sacks, and Scott had the following observation:

"I'm sure they watched the Giants game and thought we were sorry. But all week coach Cable talked about persevering and forget the past and move forward so we can get to where we want to go."

After the game, McNabb had little to say:

"I'm embarrassed by the way we came out here and played. We're a much better football team."

The Raiders will try to put together an actual winning streak as they host the New York Jets next Sunday. Oakland is a +7 home underdog with the total set at 35. They'll play their hated rivals the San Diego Chargers on the road the following Sunday before a bye week. Philadelphia will play the Redskins at Washington next Monday night. The Eagles are a -6' road favorite with the total set at 38'. - 29943

Exploiting The Power Of Mind

By William J Stevens

A commercial for the United Negro College Fund which aired frequently in the 1980s used the slogan 'the mind is a terrible thing to waste'. We're not talking about college educations here today, but this is a slogan which is absolutely true. Your mind has lot more power than you might think; and the power of the mind is indeed a terrible thing to waste. When you can access the power your mind contains, you can use it to change the world around you for the better.

Even if you haven't seen the film or read the book, it's all but certain that you know of the book The Secret or about the law of attraction, the most important idea of the book and film. The idea is that when you focus your mind on something, it attracts it to you. You don't even have to be expending mental energy on this goal consciously in order for this effect to work.

In a way, you can see this effect at work in clinical trials where it is known as the placebo effect. It's all about mind over matter. When you think about something; rather, when you believe in something, the power of the mind can make it happen.

All of us have experienced something like this in our own lives. We all have those days where we wake up thinking that this is going to be a bad day - and in fact, these days usually are. This is the power of the mind at work.

There is an increasingly large body of scientific evidence which suggests that there is a basis for this phenomena in the laws of physics. A surprising idea comes from the world of quantum mechanics which suggests that matter (which at its most basic level is simply energy) exists only when being observed - suggesting that our minds may have more influence over the universe than we have let ourselves believe in the past.

Many scientists now believe that many things which we think of as supernatural are in fact explainable through hard science, although we're only beginning to understand just how it is that telepathy, ESP and other mental phenomena work.

You may not have really given it any thought until now, but the power of the mind is something which you can put to work to make positive change in your own life. Wouldn't you want to learn how to work with the universe to get what you want using your own thoughts? There are a few techniques which can help you to do just that; keep reading to learn more about these methods.

If you want to use the power of the mind to accomplish something, it's best to have a specific goal; for example, if you'd like to become wealthy, set your mind on a specific amount instead of being well off in general. A specific target is easier to focus on.

Many people already know about the power of the mind and use it every day to make their goals a reality. They are able to decide on a specific goal and put all of their mind power towards this objective - and this is exactly how some of the world's most successful people have managed to become who they are today. It's not difficult to do, though learning to focus your mind on your goal does take a little metal training.

By learning to control the power of the mind, you can gain the ability to influence the world around you and achieve just about anything you'd like. Suppose that you want a new home. You spend a lot of time thinking about it in great detail, going so far as to visualize how you'll cultivate the back yard and the colors you'll paint every room in the house. You begin putting all of your energy towards this goal, taking steps like angling for a promotion so you can make the money you need to purchase this new home, start thinking about how you'll do the work necessary to set things up exactly the way you'd like and even researching how to get the best possible mortgage.

After you've put your effort towards it, your dream starts coming true - the house goes up for sale, you are able to secure the mortgage, your offer is accepted and everything goes fine. It's all because you've been putting your thoughts and your energy into achieving your goal; this is what makes it happen for you.

This is something that any of us has the ability to do. When you learn to tap into the power of the mind, you can use it to achieve nearly anything in life. The important thing is to start small and then work your way up to ever bigger and better things until you've accomplished everything you want to in life. - 29943

Steelers End Vikings Undefeated Run

By Ross Everett

Brett Favre and the Minnesota Vikings are undefeated no more. The Pittsburgh Steelers' used a couple of big plays from their defense in the fourth quarter to break open a close game and defeat the Vikings by a final score of 27-17. Favre put up decent yardage in the loss, throwing for 334 yards but had no touchdowns and an interception. The defending Superbowl Champion Steelers improved to 5-2, while the Vikings are now 6-1.

NFL pointspread players who backed the Steelers as -6 home favorites were rewarded with the cover. Pittsburgh had only covered one of their first six games heading into the contest, and the win improved their record against the number to 2-5. Minnesota dropped to 4-3 against the spread with the setback. The 44 points scored went UNDER the posted total of 46'. It was only the Vikings' second UNDER of the season against five OVERS, while the Steelers have gone OVER in four of their seven games.

The Steelers largely shut down Minnesota's rushing game, holding Adrian Peterson to 69 yards. Pittsburgh safety Ryan Clark underscored his team's dominance against the run:

"That's the biggest point of the game. You have the best running back in the world and you don't give it to him. They're saying they can't beat us running, and that's a major statement when you have the guy they have back there."

Favre gave a mealy mouthed justification for the loss in his postgame interview:

"There were a lot of what ifs, a lot of reasons we didn't win. The red zone was one of them. They're physical, and they were as good as we thought they'd be. ... When I came here and looked at our schedule and saw the Steelers game, I went, 'Oh-h-h.' "

Favre has only thrown three interceptions in a Vikings' uniform, but #3 was a costly one as it was returned by Steelers' Keyaron Fox for a touchdown to put the game out of reach as Minnesota was driving for a potential game tying field goal. Afterwards, Fox recalled the play:

"Brett tried to force it in there and the running back bobbled it and slipped out of his hands and it fell into my lap. I had just run across the field after Peterson and I was winded, so it felt like it was 100-plus yards."

The Vikings now face another big game next week as they head to Favre's old stomping grounds in Green Bay for a battle with the Packers. It'll be Favre's first appearance at his old home in an enemy uniform. The Vikings will then have a bye weekend before hosting the lowly Detroit Lions on November 15. Pittsburgh will enjoy a bye week this week before returning to action on Monday, November 9th facing the Denver Broncos on the road. - 29943

The Man Who Listens to Horses" Book Review

By Barb Jackson

Have you ever seen the popular television show "The Dog Whisperer"? It highlights a man who loves dogs, and has a unique ability to communicate with them, and train them as well. The book "The Man Who Listens to Horses" offers a similar story, about a man who is able to train and communicate with horses. Written by Monty Roberts, it showcases the internal workings of a horse's mind. In this article I will be offering my humble opinion on this remarkable book, and offer what I think are some of the highlights that I think other readers might enjoy.

Monty Roberts has a story to tell; not only of himself, but of the horses he loves so much. Monty grew up in an abusive household, and his father was abusive not only to him, but to his horses as well. As Monty grew older he started to formulate a different viewpoint. There must be a better way to communicate with the horses that he loves so much, and he was determined to find out what it was.

This "better way" was to become a horse breaking and training technique which he calls "join-up". For starters, you need a round pen, and an unbroken horse. The handler stands in the middle of the pen, and the horse is encouraged to run away from him/her, circling the pen in attempts to get away. As the horse runs away, the handler forms steady eye contact, and assumes a very authoritative and imposing stance. As time goes by, the handler will look for three specific signs that the horse wishes to communicate with the handler. These signs are:

The ear of the horse that is closest to the handler will turn towards him/her.

The horse will begin a process of chewing and licking.

The horse will lower his head near to the ground as he runs around the pen.

When the handler is assured that the horse wishes to communicate, he/she will turn his back and start to gradually move away. The horse will then come closer to the handler, and permit the handler to touch him. Now that contact has been established, the saddling, bridling, mounting, and riding process can begin.

In addition to the "join-up" technique, the book takes us on a journey of Robert's life as well. We learn of the various stages of his life, how he developed his horse techniques, and what has made him into the man that he is today. Some of the highlights in the book are:

-The author's successful childhood riding career

-The author's relationship with his father

-The development of the author's Thoroughbred racehorse facility

-Meeting Queen Elizabeth II of England

-Wild deer and the use of the "join-up" technique

-Mustang horses and the author's experiences with them

-Three of his favorite horses: Dually, Brownie, and Johnny Tivio

If you love horses, and would love to learn of a very humane way to train and communicate with them, then this book is for you. Check it out, read it over, and let the information wrap around your mind. - 29943

Wonder Woman on Your Bank Checks Will Make a Personal Statement

By Alan Plastin

Many little girls wanted to be Wonder Woman when they were growing up. These days, she is still a force to be reckoned with in the superhero realm, charming both men and women. If you are searching for a way to liven up your personal bank checks, and you're a fan of this lovely lady, then you might want to think about getting Wonder Woman checks. It's not as difficult as you might think, and the checks might even be cheaper than the plain ones that you already carry.

Wonder Woman first came onto the scene in December, 1941. Aside from a small pause in 1986, she is one of 3 DC Comics superheroes that have been constantly published since 1944. Wonder Woman is a member of the Amazons, an all-female tribe based on the Amazons of Greek mythology. She was developed to be a feminine role model that was intended to bring sexual equality, love, and peace to people around the world.

Wonder Woman has super strengths which included stamina, fighting powers, and super strength. She is very good at hand to hand combat fighting and is able to communicate with animals. In addition to these abilities, she can also fly and uses her Lasso of Truth in order to force people to tell the truth.

Wonder Woman has figured in her own television series, cartoons, and comic strips. You can also find her image of a multitude of items like lunch boxes, under garments, and children's toys. Now, you can purchase personal checks with her image as well.

In addition to spreading the message of love, Wonder Woman was a very liberated woman of her time and could be considered a feminist. Gloria Steinem even placed her image on the first copy of Ms. Magazine. Tall, athletic, and sharp, she embodied those women that had unconventional ideas during the time period that she came onto the scene. She was, in essence, more than just a comic strip character.

In the dazzling and dynamic Wonder Woman personal bank checks, you can virtually feel her soaring through the air. The checks have 4 rotating designs which means that each check will be different from the last one. You can also get a corresponding checkbook cover and matching address labels to complement your Wonder Woman checks.

In the past, it could be pricey and time-consuming to go to your bank and purchase personal checks. Plus, they tended to have limited selections, too. Now, however, you can buy your personal bank checks online at safe websites and save as much as 50% off of what you might have spent at your bank. Even better is the fact that you will have a wide selection of checks to choose from so you won't have to settle for something that you don't really want. Have your routing number and checking account number handy when you order your Wonder Woman checks online and they should arrive to you in the mail in around 5 days or so. - 29943

Cheap Acoustic Guitars - Considerations

By Steve Murray

One of the reasons for the cost of an instrument being high is due to the material used for making them. Certainly the better quality ones will often have been made using wood. But although there are guitars made out of other materials such as graphite or plastic wood is also used to make cheap acoustic guitars, which will still have the sound you are looking for.

Those people who choose to buy a guitar which is not made from wood often find themselves becoming frustrated because it does not produce the right kind of sound. It is these people who will often give up learning to play the guitar. So rather than spending money on a cheap one instead invest a little more in an acoustic guitar that has been made from wood. Although you will not be saving yourself money you will enjoy playing it much more.

When looking to buy a cheap acoustic guitar if you can purchase one that has a solid wooden top rather than one with a plywood top. As you will soon discover those with solid wooden tops produce a much fuller and richer sound than those that do not. Also when looking at investing money in an acoustic guitar choose one that comes with a solid wood back and sides.

One such guitar you may want to consider is the Seagull S6. Which is not the cheapest acoustic guitar you can buy, but it is value for the money. It has a solid wood cedar top whilst the sides and back are made using mahogany and it is these which help it produce such a beautiful sound. In fact this is a guitar that even professional musicians will keep, even though they may have several other and more expensive guitars in their collection.

The Seagull S6 will cost around $400-$500, but if you are at all serious about being a good guitarist, you should seriously consider investing money in buying this guitar. Buy by taking a look online you may actually find that you can get some great deals on this particular guitar.

As well as the Seagull S6 acoustic guitar there are other ones which you may want to consider such as the Yamaha F310. This guitar is cheaper because of the material used to make it. The top is made from spruce rather than cedar and sides and back are made using mahogany as the Seagull S6 is. Because of the difference in the top wood used one can expect to pay about $150 to $200 for this acoustic guitar. It is the price of this guitar which is why those just learning to play the guitar will buy one.

Along with the Yamaha F310 there is also the Epiphone DR-100 which costs slightly less and prices range from $120 to $150 for this particular model. But although it costs less than the Yamaha F310 it is actually made from the same kinds of wood, spruce for the top of the guitar and mahogany for both the back and sides. Of the three guitars we have mentioned this is the ideal one to purchase if you are still unsure as to whether this is the right musical instrument for you or not. But if you do purchase to learn to play the guitar then at some point in the future you will find that you need to upgrade to a better one.

Yes there are plenty of guitars available which will cost you less than $100 but these should be avoided at all costs especially as a guitar for learning with. The quality of the sound that they produce is badly effected because of the materials that they have been constructed from. In many cases you will often find that those who invest money in such guitars will often give up after a few lessons simply because the sound they make is not what they were expecting.

If you are serious when it comes to getting cheap acoustic guitars in order to learn how to play them then you can not go far wrong with getting one of those mentioned above. However, if you still find that you do not have sufficient funds to purchase a new one why not visit your local music or guitar store and see what second hand ones they have. Doing this you will be able to try a number of different ones out and see which one you like the feel of and which feels comfortable when you try to play it. - 29943

Packers Shut Out Lowly Lions

By Ross Everett

The Green Bay Packers didn't do a good job protecting their quarterback last Sunday, but against the lowly Detroit Lions it didn't really matter. Packers' QB Aaron Rodgers was sacked five times, but Green Bay used a big first half offensive outburst to coast to a 26-0 NFL victory over the Detroit Lions. Rodgers threw two first half touchdown passes which was complimented by four Mason Crosby field goals as Green Bay improved to 3-2 on the season.

NFL football betting enthusiasts who backed the Packers as -14 home dogs easily cashed their tickets with Green Bay's third pointspread cover in five games. Detroit slipped to 2-4 against the spread.

In the victory, Packers' receiver Donald Driver passed Sterling Sharpe for first place on the franchise reception list. Sharpe finished his career with 596 receptions, Driver now has 602. After the game, he talked about the accomplishment:

"It couldn't it come in a better place -- at home in front of the fans I've played in front of for so many years. It feels good. Now I just have to wait on Sterling to call me and congratulate me."

Despite the convincing victory, cornerback Tramon Williams wasn't happy with the relatively narrow margin:

"It feels like a 50 to zero game, but we didn't quite get there. I felt we should've put more points on the board."

For the Lions, their quarterback woes continued. Backup Daunte Cullpepper injured his hamstring in the third quarter and was replaced by the Lions' third string quarterback Drew Stanton. Cullpepper is now listed as 'questionable' on the official NFL injury report. After the game, he talked about Detroit's lack of offense:

"It's very disappointing, very frustrating. It's embarrassing to me not to be able to move it on the field and get points on the board. We've got to figure out a way to do that, simple as that."

The Packers will play on the road this Sunday, heading to Cleveland to face the Browns. The game is currently off the board as linemakers try to get a handle on the personnel impact of the Browns' struggle with a flu bug making its way through the locker room. Green Bay will host the Minnesota Vikings the following Sunday followed by a trip to Tampa Bay on November 8. Detroit has a bye this weekend and will return to action as they host the St. Louis Rams on November 1. - 29943

Cincinnati Rips Chicago

By Ross Everett

Former Chicago Bears running back Cedric Benson got revenge on the team that let him go in the best possible way. Benson amassed 189 yards rushing and led his new team, the Cincinnati Bengals, to a 45-10 rout over the visiting Bears on Sunday. Carson Palmer threw for five touchdowns with no interceptions in the blowout victory. Cincinnati improved to 5-2 with the win while Chicago dropped to 3-3 on the NFL season.

The Bengals also made short work of the NFL pointspread, easily covering as +1' home underdogs. Cincinnati improved to 4-3 against the number while Chicago evened their ATS mark at 3-3. The 55 combined points sailed OVER the posted total of 42'.

A happy Benson described his feelings after the win:

"Everybody knew it was going to be an emotional day. Everybody knew. What a wonderful day and a wonderful thing, to go out there and strut your stuff."

Despite the evidence to the contrary, Benson downplayed the motive of revenge:

"I continue to be as graceful as I can be. I'm not shoving anything in anybody's face. Like I say, it wasn't a revenge day for me. I just wanted to take advantage of the opportunities."

He said his biggest problem was trying to keep his emotions in check:

"There were a few times where I may have gotten a little too hyped up, a little too antsy. A couple of drives, I found myself having to calm myself down and gather my emotions to stay poised. Once I got past that, we were good to go. Keep it rolling."

Bengals' receiver Chad Ochocinco had 10 catches for 118 yards and two touchdowns. He shared his thoughts postgame:

"I don't understand why it went this way today and why it didn't go that way last week or the week before that. The offensive line played unbelievable. For Ced to run the way he did today and for us to be able to throw, we could have done what we wanted to do."

Chicago gave up more points than in any game all season, a fact that left defensive end Alex Brown looking for answers:

"That was pretty embarrassing. It's embarrassing to come out and play like that. I tip my hat to their whole team. Cedric ran the ball like crazy. They did whatever they wanted to do."

The Bengals will enjoy a bye week before hosting the Baltimore Ravens on November 8. They'll then play two games on the road at Pittsburgh and Oakland. Chicago will try to get back on track this Sunday as they host the Cleveland Browns. The Bears are -13' home favorites with the total set at 40. - 29943

Fate Stay Night the New Anime TV Series is Soon to Be Released, But Will Everyone Like It?

A lot of people enjoy anime but for some it can be a real bore. However, there are some anime TV series' that are suitable for everyone (within reason) and that has to be said about Fate Stay Night. It's about to be released on DVD - only the first four episodes - and it's likely to be a huge success with young and old. However, there are a few things you should know before you buy the DVD.

Fate Stay Night Video

MVM are releasing the DVD on the 4th of January 2010 and it's going to be quite a bit release. MVM are one of the only companies who release Japanese anime in the UK and they've built quite a good reputation in the last few years. Japanese anime is always good for a laugh but sometimes the story lines can be a bit boring.

Well, Fate Stay Night is certainly not a boring story. I've had the pleasure of watching the first four episodes and without giving too much away; it follows the story of a young master called Shirou who ends up being involved in a massive war of the worlds. It's all about the Holy Grail and the powers that it supposedly possesses.

However, there are other characters who are also in the fight to get their hands on it and Shirou finds himself involved with something much larger than he first thought. It's a great story and there are a lot of action scenes and plenty of exciting plot lines. However, it won't be suitable for children.

It's going to be rated 15 as far as I remember and this means that anyone under this age will have to wait until their birthday roles around. It's certainly a DVD that I'd recommend but as usual with anime, it won't be everyone's cup of tea. Fate Stay Night is certainly one of the best though.

The original story is based on the Japanese visual novel game of the same name and is actually a really intense story that gets you very involved. So, if anime is your scene and you like this sort of thing then this DVD will really get you going. Fate Stay Night isn't for everyone though so beware. - 29943

Free Easy Ultimate Guitar Tab

By Stan Stewickiva

Free guitar tabs can be found everywhere online. However there are also some pay websites where you can find ultimate guitar tab transcriptions.

Paying for an ultimate guitar tab website is very expensive and should only be a final step after you have tried all of the free services. The free services have almost any song you can imagine. The pay sites also have thousands of songs but they are not free.

If you want to learn to play the guitar quickly, you need to build finger strength and learn the chords and scales. If you would like an even quicker and simpler shortcut, than learning ultimate guitar tab could be right for you.

When you first try learning to play a song with an ultimate guitar tab book, you can learn most songs in a few hours. This depends on how difficult the song is and how long you have been playing.

Many people claim that learning from an ultimate guitar tab book is a huge shortcut when learning how to play the guitar. However, in the long run it is also a good idea to learn how to play the chords and scales so you can play any song.

The ultimate guitar tab notes will help a person learn a song very quickly by showing them the exact notes and what strings to strike. By just using the chords and sheet music, you will have a general idea of how the song is suppose to sound. Learning all of the chords and scales is very time consuming and a much slower way to learn how to play the guitar.

Another advantage of ultimate guitar tab is that you can see precisely what notes are being played in a particular song. You can play any song precisely as it was written. Playing a song with just the chords rather than the precise notes makes the tune sound similar, but not precisely how it was written.

Using ultimate guitar tab is a good way to find those hidden or obscure single notes here and there that aren't heard very often. Whether or not you are a beginner or a seasoned musician, learning guitar tabs is still fun and straightforward.

You can really impress any person you like by playing the notes to their favorite song to them in a couple of minutes. There is not any faster and simpler free way to teach yourself how to play the guitar than by learning an ultimate guitar tab transcription. - 29943

Is A Magazine Subscription Any Good?

By Patricia Connor

There are many reasons as to why a magazine subscription is a good thing. Ahead of probably anything else of course, is that it saves money; with most publishers offering huge discounts on the regular price. These discounts can be 60% or more, but there are many more benefits.

It is likely that we all have a favorite magazine, even if we do not read it on a regular basis. However, whichever you are, you are likely to have experienced the frustration when your local store has run out of copies.

Here again, such a frustration is prevented with a magazine subscription. A subscriber has the magazine delivered directly to their home of course. This takes away the issue of not being quick enough to the store of course; but is also super convenient.

It is more than simply convenience however. The magazine is likely to be delivered ahead of it going in sale in the stores; as much as a week in advance in many instances. Of course, this keeps you updated on all the latest news; which could help for those discussions with your friends.

There are many special offers, deals, bonuses and competitions that subscribers can take advantage of too; whilst many print special sections only included in subscribers copies. Depending on the magazine, many give excellent store discounts with partners and so on as well.

If you like to donate to charity, schools, clubs, etcetera throughout the year, this can also be done through a subscription. This can be directly through the organization's own publication, or through a special tie up where the publishers divert some of your fee.

There is a wide selection of magazines about now, so finding something suitable should not be more than a simple search online or through your local store. Indeed, if you have a problem person to buy a present for, a magazine subscription can make a great gift. - 29943

Rakeback and MultiTabling - Don't Let Them Be Your Downfall

By Thomas Kearns

When poker players sit down at a poker table they have a lot of different goals in mind. Some people play the game purely for recreation. Their main goal is to have a good time. They may want to kick back a few beers and catch up with friends and poker is just something to be doing while this happens. These players don't mind losing a few bucks each time they play. If this is you that's fine as long as you are aware that this is why you play. Other players are strictly business. They play strictly for the money. In reality most poker players are some combination of these reasons with money being on most peoples mind to at least some degree.

If your main motivation at the poker table is money, you should be looking to improve your poker at all times and move up to bigger games. Bigger games are where the bigger money is at and if that is your motivation, you need to stay focused. With the higher stakes generally comes tougher competition. If you continue to evolve as a poker player you should grow as a player along with your bankroll so that you will be ready when you get to the bigger games. Unfortunately there are some traps for online poker players that often stunt the growth of a player and prevent them from ever making it to the big game.

The main thing that I often see happen to up and coming poker players is that they begin to play too many tables at once. These players believe that they can continue to make more and more money by adding more tables at the same limits. This may be true but there is a limit to the amount of tables one person can handle. The real drawback here is that you stop learning and improving your game. If you find yourself playing 16 tables of 1/2 limit hold'em for months on end, you have fallen into the multitable trap. Its time for you to drop down to 2 to 4 tables at a time and start moving up in limits. Multitabling is a great way to increase your dollar per hour income. Just make sure that you don't stop learning and getting better at whatever form of poker you're playing. Moving up should be your primary goal. The real money is in the big games and 20 tabling .50/1 is never going to get you there.

A similar pit fall is what I refer to as "The Rakeback Trap". This is when a player focuses on how he can earn the most rakeback rather than trying to get better. This often involves playing too many tables or playing short handed poker. Rakeback is a great way to pad your bankroll and anyone serious about online poker has to be taking advantage of it. Just make sure that you treat rakeback as what it is. Something extra. This trap is especially tempting when you get to the 5/10 games. You can easily make a decent living playing break even poker and collecting rakeback at these levels if you play a few thousand hands per day. Focus on getting better and rakeback will simply become and after thought to what can be made in the high stakes games.

If you play poker to make money, real money, than make sure that you keep your goal in mind and remember where that real money is being made. Its being made in the big games. Not by playing 16 tables of 1/2 limit hold'em with a 30% rakeback deal. - 29943

Balanced Reviews On Motion Pictures From Days Gone By And Now

By Jennifer Mccray

On the whole of these services function on a membership basis. They charge a charge that covers indefinite downloads for a specified interlude of time. The fees are in general very acceptable and it even works out to be a reduced amount than the average regional video store. Choose a good motion picture to watch tonight from the list below.

Kimberley Jim - Little musical of 2 untroubled gamblers who win a fortune in a fixed poker game, and then have a change of heart. Cast includes Jim Reeves, Madeleine Guide, Clive Pamell, Arthur Swemmer, and Mike Holt. (82 minutes, 1965)

Fade-In - Odd little film made concurrently with Blue, in reference to love event between film editor Loden and guy she meets when performing on location. Not extremely great, however an absolute curiosity on no account discharged theatrically. Cast includes Burt Reynolds, Barbara Loden, Noam Pitlik, Patricia Casey, James Hampton, and Joseph Perry. (93 minutes, 1968)

Mrs. Dalloway - Redgrave is shining as the wife of a British M.P., who on the night of a gathering, thinks back to her adolescence when she selected between a safe, secure life and a more challenging presence with a man who genuinely loved her. McElhone is a phenomenal equal for Redgrave in the flashback scenes. Cast includes Vanessa Redgrave, Natascha McElhone, Rupert Graves, Michael Kitcben, Alan Cox, Lena Headey, Amelia Bulhnore, Sarah Badel, Oliver Ford Davies, Katie Carr, John Sitting, Robert Hardy, Margaret Tyzack, and Phyllis Calvert. (97 minutes, 1998)

The Sea Hawk - Top of the line combination with Flynn at his streaking best in venture on the high oceans. The movie has a vigorous balance of piracy, romance, and swordplay, handsomely shot, and orchestrated with exciting Erich Wolfgang Komgold score. Cast includes Errol Flynn, Brenda Marshall, Claude Pours, Donald Crisp, Flora Robson, Alan Hale, Henry Daniell, Una O'Connor, Gilbert Roland, and Edgar Buchanan. (127 minutes, 1940)

Afurika Monogatari - Guide Sayer crashes his airplane in wilds of Africa and comes upon a game preserve. Even old Jimmy is dull. The film was filmed in Kenya. Cast includes James Stewart, Philip Sayer, Eleanora Vallone, and Heekura Simba. (120 minutes, 1981)

Jack Frost - A careless father dies in an auto accident and comes to life one year later as a snowman in his child's front yard! Nice, affable acting and an lack of hostility make this an alright family film. However, it on no account conquers its quintessential problem, an extremely odd premise. Cast includes Michael Keaton, Kelly Preston, Mark Addy, Joseph Cross, Henry Rollins, and Dweezil Zappa. (95 minutes, 1998)

You will also be receiving the equal first-rate, unabridged movies that you are used to finding at your community video store or getting in the mail from your subscription service, but it is better because you do not have to wait and you can download right from the ease and expediency of your own abode. - 29943

Live Bands For Wedding Or Are DJ's A Better Option?

By Abi J Ponton

Live bands for wedding entertainment are a great option if you want everyone to remember your day. A good live band will provide fun and excitement for every guests, or you can find a band the will be in the background, creating an ambiance where guests can unwind and visit.

Live bands for wedding are freely available over the internet just doing a quick search on google or yahoo will bring up thousands of results. Finding the right one is a bit trickier. First you have to decide on what sort of music you want to be played on the big day. Once you have decided e.g. jazz music you must now do a search for jazz bands.

Live bands for weddings should have an established history of performing. Established bands will have a website or a face book link where you can listen to music and view videos to get a taste for the musical style and quality of the band.

To make really sure that they are the band you want at your wedding giving a call to some of their previous venues to see how they did there is also a good idea. Or maybe even watch them play at another venue your self?

Because you are having a live band at your wedding your ability to communicate with the band well is vital. A lot of people just simply do not realise what work goes in to setting up a band at different venues.

Firstly the band needs ample parking close to the venue as they will probably have heavy equipment to move on to the stage. The stage has also got to be large enough to play on and have a power outlet close by.

Don't forget to find out if your venue requires a license to play live music. The band will not necessarily take it upon themselves to check, and you don't want to find out you can't have music on the day of the event.

If your site has sound limiters, make sure to inform the band. With limiters, if music is played above a certain level the equipment gets cut off. This is not a problem if the musicians know ahead of time, and won't affect performance if they can make modifications ahead.

Once you have all the arrangements made with the live band for weddings on your special day, all you have to do is relax, enjoy, and pick the perfect song for that first dance as husband and wife. - 29943

Wedding Reception Bands Set The Mood For Your Reception

By David Bullen

Wedding reception bands do much more than just play music. They set the atmosphere for your reception and cap off your special day. You may want a wedding band that plays quietly in the background so your guests can socialize or you might choose a band that livens up your reception with dance and party music.

A lot of people tend to choose a band that creates a party mood so guests can dance the night away to popular tunes from the 50s to present. Wedding reception bands usually play a wide range of songs so guest of all ages will hear their favorite tunes.

Music can also be provided that is of particular interest to the happy couple. Any good band will do this for you and you will probably not be putting them to trouble as good bands love to learn new songs in rehearsal as it keeps them fresh.

Many people make the mistake of cutting costs when it comes to the wedding band or other entertainment and this can be a big mistake. Your big day could end a disastrous flop if you choose the wrong band to play at the reception.

Bar bands may be cheaper than experienced wedding reception bands, but experience with the venue counts for a lot when you want the event to go smoothly. Wedding bands are familiar with the set up and type of guests and can anticipate and prevent problems that might arise.

Also, if there is an emergency at the last minute and the band can't perform, a wedding band probably has contacts with other wedding reception bands so they can find a suitable replacement at the last minute. If a bar band can't make it, you may just be out of luck.

Before you book your band and choose the songs you want them to play, you want to make sure the venue for your reception is set up to play live music. Some locations have a sound limiter that automatically places sound limits on the band. The band needs to be aware of this limitation before they agree to your wedding.

Make sure there is ample space for all of the band equipment and enough power supply. The band will also want to know about parking arrangements and what the set up will be for loading and unloading all of their equipment.

Last and certainly not least please check that the venue has a live music licence as no licence equals no band and this could potentially ruin your big day right at the last minute if you do not check this out well in advance. - 29943

One of the fastest means of finding the best reception bands is by searching online using Google or Yahoo search engines. You may also consider finding a professional band booking agent to help in your search. You can find these as well by searching for agents online.

Generally, bands do not specialize in a particular location; however they most likely do specialize in a certain type of music. Therefore, you should search for the type of music you desire rather than simply for bands, this helps to narrow your search options.

You have now found what looks like a few good reception bands. You will know this because they all have either a website or a social networking page like face book. They have good videos or mp3s online of their music.

Take the time to call the various locations they have played to learn about their client reviews. You may even wish to visit a location where they are playing to get a better idea. Also ask about their learning to play music they do not already know. Most are more than happy to do so as this helps keep their act fresh and exciting for them and their clients.

After choosing a reception band according to your needs and budget you will need to do some research before handing over any cash. First, you need to know if your chosen location has a license for live music. Next, you will need to check out the parking accommodations. Most bands have lots of equipment they use and will need to bring inside.

Once inside you need to check the stage area for the band is big enough to play on and has plenty of power outlets nearby. Another thing to bear in mind is some venues have sound limiters and if the band play their music too high then it will cut the power so please make the band aware of this.

How much do the best reception bands charge? Hard to say but it could be two to four times as much as you would pay for a DJ. Although, this may seem a bit steep, professionals are serious about their work and their experience. Cheaper bands may seem fine; however, remember you get what you pay for. You want your special day complimented by the best reception bands. - 29943

Picking The Best Race For Mage As Alliance

By Jeff Kamar

Anyone who cares about min/maxing their new mage is going to want to know what the best race for mage is. Picking based on looks is great, but if you either like all the races or just don't care, picking based on racials is the best option. We'll talk about the pros and cons of each of the three Alliance mage races.

The first up is of course human. Humans have a few racials worth noting for anyone rolling mage. They get a passive 3% spirit bonus; not great, but still. Every Man for Himself is amazing for PvP, allowing you to equip something other than a PvP trinket. Perception is also great for PvP; busting rogues out of stealth can win fights instantly.

But what about PvE? Every Man for Himself will let you get out of CC and back to DPSing on occasion, but that's very situational and won't mean much in the long run. And the 3% Spirit bonus is just laughable. If PvE is all you're interested in, I'd skip over human.

Next up is gnome. Gnome is another good choice for PvP thanks to Escape Artist and their passive 2% resistance to Arcane. And Expansive Mind, a 5% bonus to Intellect, is great for anyone rolling mage, be it for PvP or PvE. Gnome is a solid choice for an all-around player.

Last choice for mage are the infamous blueberries, Draenei. Their HoT racial, Gift of the Naaru, can be handy in PvP and in some situations in PvE; not dying is a great way to improve your DPS. And even if you aren't in too much risk of dying, taking pressure off overtaxed raid healers can be helpful.

Gift of the Naaru isn't the big thing on the Draenei racial list though. Heroic Presence, a 1% hit bonus to yourself and your party, is what makes them worth rolling. Missing spells can prove fatal in PvP and gimp DPS in PvE, so being capped is vital...and this talent means you can stat more offensive stats instead of stacking hit. Rounding out their racial list is a 2% shadow resistance, all together making Draenei another good choice for mage.

So all we've really concluded is that unless you are rolling a human for PvE, you probably will do alright. But what is the BEST race for mage? For PvP, human is easily the best. The only thing better than one powerful trinket is two, and human can equip two thanks to Every Man for Himself handling all your CC busting needs.

How about for PvE? Well, Heroic Presence doesn't stack, so if you are goign to be running with other Draenei then it is kinda useless. And Expansive Mind really is a great racial. So gnome is usually going to be the best PvE race for mage.

I hope this guide has helped you figure out which race to roll for your Alliance mage! I'll be doing a write-up on Horde races soon, so keep an eye out for that. - 29943
