Wedding Reception Bands Set The Mood For Your Reception

By David Bullen

Wedding reception bands do much more than just play music. They set the atmosphere for your reception and cap off your special day. You may want a wedding band that plays quietly in the background so your guests can socialize or you might choose a band that livens up your reception with dance and party music.

A lot of people tend to choose a band that creates a party mood so guests can dance the night away to popular tunes from the 50s to present. Wedding reception bands usually play a wide range of songs so guest of all ages will hear their favorite tunes.

Music can also be provided that is of particular interest to the happy couple. Any good band will do this for you and you will probably not be putting them to trouble as good bands love to learn new songs in rehearsal as it keeps them fresh.

Many people make the mistake of cutting costs when it comes to the wedding band or other entertainment and this can be a big mistake. Your big day could end a disastrous flop if you choose the wrong band to play at the reception.

Bar bands may be cheaper than experienced wedding reception bands, but experience with the venue counts for a lot when you want the event to go smoothly. Wedding bands are familiar with the set up and type of guests and can anticipate and prevent problems that might arise.

Also, if there is an emergency at the last minute and the band can't perform, a wedding band probably has contacts with other wedding reception bands so they can find a suitable replacement at the last minute. If a bar band can't make it, you may just be out of luck.

Before you book your band and choose the songs you want them to play, you want to make sure the venue for your reception is set up to play live music. Some locations have a sound limiter that automatically places sound limits on the band. The band needs to be aware of this limitation before they agree to your wedding.

Make sure there is ample space for all of the band equipment and enough power supply. The band will also want to know about parking arrangements and what the set up will be for loading and unloading all of their equipment.

Last and certainly not least please check that the venue has a live music licence as no licence equals no band and this could potentially ruin your big day right at the last minute if you do not check this out well in advance. - 29943

Getting The Right Reception band

By Melanie Crisp

You need to learn how to choose the best reception band when you want to create an enchanting atmosphere for your guests regardless of the occasion. Whether you are celebrating in a lively fashion or simply desire the soothing effects of music playing softly in the back ground so that conversation carries on with out disturbance, you want the best you can find.

One of the fastest means of finding the best reception bands is by searching online using Google or Yahoo search engines. You may also consider finding a professional band booking agent to help in your search. You can find these as well by searching for agents online.

Generally, bands do not specialize in a particular location; however they most likely do specialize in a certain type of music. Therefore, you should search for the type of music you desire rather than simply for bands, this helps to narrow your search options.

You have now found what looks like a few good reception bands. You will know this because they all have either a website or a social networking page like face book. They have good videos or mp3s online of their music.

Take the time to call the various locations they have played to learn about their client reviews. You may even wish to visit a location where they are playing to get a better idea. Also ask about their learning to play music they do not already know. Most are more than happy to do so as this helps keep their act fresh and exciting for them and their clients.

After choosing a reception band according to your needs and budget you will need to do some research before handing over any cash. First, you need to know if your chosen location has a license for live music. Next, you will need to check out the parking accommodations. Most bands have lots of equipment they use and will need to bring inside.

Once inside you need to check the stage area for the band is big enough to play on and has plenty of power outlets nearby. Another thing to bear in mind is some venues have sound limiters and if the band play their music too high then it will cut the power so please make the band aware of this.

How much do the best reception bands charge? Hard to say but it could be two to four times as much as you would pay for a DJ. Although, this may seem a bit steep, professionals are serious about their work and their experience. Cheaper bands may seem fine; however, remember you get what you pay for. You want your special day complimented by the best reception bands. - 29943

Picking The Best Race For Mage As Alliance

By Jeff Kamar

Anyone who cares about min/maxing their new mage is going to want to know what the best race for mage is. Picking based on looks is great, but if you either like all the races or just don't care, picking based on racials is the best option. We'll talk about the pros and cons of each of the three Alliance mage races.

The first up is of course human. Humans have a few racials worth noting for anyone rolling mage. They get a passive 3% spirit bonus; not great, but still. Every Man for Himself is amazing for PvP, allowing you to equip something other than a PvP trinket. Perception is also great for PvP; busting rogues out of stealth can win fights instantly.

But what about PvE? Every Man for Himself will let you get out of CC and back to DPSing on occasion, but that's very situational and won't mean much in the long run. And the 3% Spirit bonus is just laughable. If PvE is all you're interested in, I'd skip over human.

Next up is gnome. Gnome is another good choice for PvP thanks to Escape Artist and their passive 2% resistance to Arcane. And Expansive Mind, a 5% bonus to Intellect, is great for anyone rolling mage, be it for PvP or PvE. Gnome is a solid choice for an all-around player.

Last choice for mage are the infamous blueberries, Draenei. Their HoT racial, Gift of the Naaru, can be handy in PvP and in some situations in PvE; not dying is a great way to improve your DPS. And even if you aren't in too much risk of dying, taking pressure off overtaxed raid healers can be helpful.

Gift of the Naaru isn't the big thing on the Draenei racial list though. Heroic Presence, a 1% hit bonus to yourself and your party, is what makes them worth rolling. Missing spells can prove fatal in PvP and gimp DPS in PvE, so being capped is vital...and this talent means you can stat more offensive stats instead of stacking hit. Rounding out their racial list is a 2% shadow resistance, all together making Draenei another good choice for mage.

So all we've really concluded is that unless you are rolling a human for PvE, you probably will do alright. But what is the BEST race for mage? For PvP, human is easily the best. The only thing better than one powerful trinket is two, and human can equip two thanks to Every Man for Himself handling all your CC busting needs.

How about for PvE? Well, Heroic Presence doesn't stack, so if you are goign to be running with other Draenei then it is kinda useless. And Expansive Mind really is a great racial. So gnome is usually going to be the best PvE race for mage.

I hope this guide has helped you figure out which race to roll for your Alliance mage! I'll be doing a write-up on Horde races soon, so keep an eye out for that. - 29943
