Get Creative When Planning Your Wedding Entertainment

By Andrew Edmonds

If your big day is around the corner, then you have a lot of decisions to make. There are flowers and photographers to consider, the guest list, what to wear, it goes on and on. One decision that should be creative and fun is what you decided about the wedding entertainment.

Past choices left those planning a wedding wishing they had more to select from. If a traditional wedding is what you want, you cannot go wrong with the tranquility a simple harp, or even piano, can offer. If the guest list includes those who like the wild side of life, maybe a more festive atmosphere is in order. It is all up to you, because the day belongs to you.

First you must face the facts about what you should plan. Your budget is, of course, the first consideration. What you can spend might determine who you can get for your wedding entertainment. If you have talented friends or family members do not be too shy to ask for their help. If you can get them for free, good for you. A nice tip or gift at the end of the event would be a nice thing to show your appreciation.

Now it is time to look at other things to consider. Who is coming to the wedding? Your grandmother might be a heavy metal fan just like your friends. If she is then do not hesitate to pull out all the stops. Perhaps you are from a unique ethnic group. If something more traditional is the most appropriate form of entertainment, maybe that is the best route. The people who attend will be people you, and you also know what you and your guest will enjoy the most.

You can hire the wedding entertainment yourself, or you can get some much needed help. If you have hired a wedding planner, ask the planner for his or her advice. They will certainly have a number of entertainers they call upon on a regular basis. You can trust your wedding planner with all of your needs, so ask for their input along with passing along your own ideas.

Jennifer wanted nothing to do with tradition when it came to her wedding. She and her groom were not the types for anything like that. Las Vegas was on her mind. She invited all of the people on her guest list to dress up in some fancy costumes, and they all showed up in festive attire. An Elvis theme chapel was selected for the main ceremony. A Chinese eatery and bar were just down the street and offered a very festive location for a reception. Who needed live music when there was jukebox filled with songs Jennifer loved.

Carla is definitely the exception to the rule when it comes to wedding events. But what is important to remember is that the entertainment you select should be a reflection of who you are and the type of event you want your wedding to be. Just as you choose a dress and wedding location that fits your style, the entertainment should accomplish the same goal.

Being creative is the key to planning every aspect of your wedding. It will be an important day for you. Wedding entertainment can provide great memories for you and your guests. - 29943
