Remastered Beatles on Vinyl in 2010

By Harold Zack Quesenberry

Many music lovers believe that vinyl LPs are the most ultimate way to enjoy an album. There's some kind of magic to watching the black circle spin and knowing that the wonderful sound you're listening to is coming from the needle rather than a series of 1s and 0s.

It's this "magic feeling" (to quote "You Never Give Me Your Money" that has Beatles addicts extremely excited about the rumors of The Beatles 2009 remasters making their way onto vinyl records in 2010. Although as of right now no date for release has been officially set, it is known that Apple Corps. is working on a Vinyl record release of The Beatles remastered stereo albums (but it's not known if the mono versions will also be made available on vinyl.)

The Beatles LPs that are available at the moment were created using the 1987 remasters so these 2010 vinyl records should be as improved in sound quality as the new discs are when compared to the 1987 discs (and if you haven't heard that difference yet, you really should get to it!)

I am definitely planning on buying The Beatles Remastered LP Box as soon as it is available (as I'm sure it'll sell out fast) even though I have already purchased all of the remasters on CD.

According to the interviews that I've seen, the remastered Beatles vinyl will be available both individually and as a part of a box set (just like The Beatles remastered stereo CDs.) The rumored release date is March 16, 2010 but there is a good chance that will not end up as the final release date.

While you're waiting for the vinyl LPs I strongly recommend that you buy The Beatles Remastered Stereo CD Box Set and The Beatles in Mono Box Set. They both sound incredible. I end up listening to stereo box set more commonly (as I just like hearing music in stereo more than in mono, in general) but that being said, the mono CDs are very interesting to hear too. - 29943
