A Jumble Of Quick Major Motion Picture Summaries

By Celina Spencer

With a shop near every neighborhood, video stores have been the most convenient way to get movies for years. The next generation it seems will be getting their movies from movie downloads, avoiding any trips to the store. Below, is a sample of some of the movies you can find using movie download sites.

A Sound of Thunder: In Chicago, 2055, a corporation takes journeys back in time to seek dinosaurs. Preventative measures are taken, however of course something goes incorrect, and a small change in the past sends corrections down through time that our idols try to set right. It's simple to see why this prevailed on the ledge so long. Cast includes Edward Bums, Catherine McCormack, Ben Kingsley, Jemima Roper, August Zimmer, and Corey Johnson. (103 minutes, 2005)

The Perfect Storm: Three different storm systems are on a collision course in the ocean 200 miles off the coast of Massachusetts. The fishing vessel the Andrea Gail is on its way back from a few weeks of fishing in the North Atlantic. They are unwittingly headed right into the middle of this monstrous storm.

Clouds Over Europe: This 1950s B-film premise is excellent. 2008-fashion through the lens of a video camcorder clutched by a man who starts out shooting a buddy's goodbye reception and then gets snared up in "recording" everything that occurs. Runs on pristine adrenaline and by no means lets up, with some excellent stuns and a daunting being. Cast includes Lizzy Caplan, Jessica Lucas, T. J. Miller, Michael Stahl-David, Mike Vogel, Odette Yustman, and Chris Mulkey. (85 minutes, 2008)

Black Like Me: Cast includes James Whitmore, Roscoe Lee Browne, Lenka Petersen, Sorrell Booke, Can Geer, Al Freeman, and Raymond Jacques. Hefty tirade based on real history of journalist who took medications that permitted him to pass for black so he might expetience racial prejudice firsthand. Some facets of presentation are un-contemporary, although topics are still well-timed (107 minutes, 1964)

Marianne and JuIiane: Profound, multilevel Ed, and memorable journal of the relation between 2 siblings, alike in some ways yet so extremely variant in others. Juliane Lampe is a feminist editor performing within the system; Marianne Sukowa is an extreme partisan alarmist. Cast includes Jutta Lampe, Barbara Sukowa, Rudiger Vogler, Doris Schade, and Franz Rudnick. (106 minutes, 1982)

The Kingdom: This four hour film is essentially 4 Danish Television shows strung together, set and shot at the genuine Nationwide State Health center in Copenhagen. It is known as "The Empire'. As essentially every critic has pointed out, this is ER meets Double Summits, with crackpot physicians, supernatural goings-on, sex, black humor, etc. A should for those who imagine they've seen everything. Cast includes Ernst-Hugo Jaregard, Kirsten Rolffes, Ghita Norby, Soren Pilmark, Jens Okking, Otto Brandenburg, Baard Owe, and Solbjorg Hojfeldt. (271 minutes, 1994)

Medicine Man: Dr. Robert Campbell is doing research in the Amazon jungle, financed by a pharmaceutical company. Campbell claims he has found a cure for cancer. The tests prove out, but there is just one problem, they can't find the plants that the chemicals come from. With the jungle around them being destroyed for development, this cure for cancer might be lost forever.

Agatha: Unreal presumption on author Agatha Christie's renowned II-night disappearance in 1926. Redgrave is splendid in this sponging up yam, Hoffman oddly miscast as slick American journalist who tracks her down. Cast includes Dustin Hoffman, Vanessa Redgrave, Timothy Dalton, Helen Morse, Celia Gregory, and Paul Brooke. (98 minutes, 1979)

Rambo: Our hero is back. John Rambo is now in Thailand. He is living in solitude on his boat on a remote river. He is found by Americans that are helping supply food to a refugee camp. The roads are mined, and they need a ride up river to help the refugees. He then learns that the missionaries have been captured by the Burmese army, and need help. He has left the violence min the past, but now he must take action.

A phrase like "Music And Movie Downloads" might get a good result. When one search fails to succeed just change things and try again. "Music Downloading Services" would be worth a try. - 29943
