5 Keys to Teach Yourself to Sing using Learning to Sing CD

Who does not want to learn to sing well, or at least better? Learn to sing CD courses offer the promise of learning to sing at our own pace, at home or in the car. There are so many Learn to Sing CD or online singing courses to choose from, that we have to choose wisely to avoid being ripped off. We all want to reach the high notes, without paying top dollar though.

Vocal chords are muscles. We must train them like muscles if we are to improve our singing with a Learn to Sing CD. A good singing course will teach us how to stretch our vocal chords, master breath control, learn vibrato techniques and avoid straining to sing high notes. With typical vocal ranges of about 12 notes, the average singer cannot reach the high notes without using a teach yourself to sing course, or a learn to sing CD. Either that, or we need to sign up with a vocal coach.

By studying with a CD for learning to sing, or teach yourself to sing course, the new singer can learn the proper technique for singing high notes. Often, testimonials from each Learn to Sing CD course, or online singing course will discuss how the course improved the singing range of customers.

My own voice is a bass-baritone. Frank Sinatra songs were a bit out of my range until I worked with a Learn to Sing CD and I began to teach myself to sing those high notes. My vocal range after learning to sing with online singing courses is up to 2 octaves. Now I can sing all of Sinatra's songs without too much strain. A trained singer can sing even 3 octaves. Opera singers are capable of this, but only after significant training. Most of the voices we hear on the radio have had some form of vocal training.

Even though teach yourself to sing courses are less than singing coaches, they can still cost more than $150. I examined several courses and found the less expensive ones to offer good value. All of the singing courses discussed breathing properly, relaxing the voice box, projecting sound, etc. Each course focused on a different aspect of singing.

A learn to sing Cd can be used to teach yourself to sing if you follow 5 critical steps.
1. Every course is different, so no matter how advanced you think you are begin at the beginning. Each instructor has a specialty - breath control, sing high notes, expanding range low and high, etc. Learn their system.

2. Include the singing course in your normal routine for daily practice. Consider this an exercise routine because vocal chords are muscles. Shower time, or car time are great times for practicing your singing.

3. Early practice is better than late practice. Singing in the shower with a learn to sing CD is a great way to start the day. The car is also a good place to get the practice done every day.
