The Things To Do In Taba, Egypt

By Jeffrey Smith

Taba Egypt is in the located northernmost region of Egypt, on the Gulf of Aqaba, in the Red Sea. Since it is a border town with Israel, it is a weekend vacation spot for both Egyptians and Israelis.

Getting to Taba could not be easier. Since the opening of its international airport, you can find direct flights from select cities in Europe. Buses run daily from Nuweiba, Dahab, Sharm el-Sheikh, Cairo, and Suez. You also have the option of taking a taxi service, which is comparably priced, to and from Nuweiba, Tarabeen, Dahab, and Sharm.

As part of an agreement with Israel, travelers crossing over from Israel are permitted to travel visa free for up to 14 days. You must cross at the Eilat - Taba border crossing, and the visa-free zone extends from Taba to Sharm el-Sheikh, and includes the towns of Nuweiba, St. Catherine and Dahab.

But, you can gamble all over; it is not specific to Egypt. What might be pretty specific to the area would be the Red Sea Water World: Taba Heights. This attraction allows normal folks to experience the thrill of underwater explorations through deep sea diving in the Red Sea.

Taba International Airport is 35km from town. There is also a long distance bus that runs from Cairo to the border. Passengers are mainly males, but the buses are quite new and well equipped.

Finally, the Three Corners El Wakela Resort golf course provides a challenging 18 hole, par 72 course for those who have an affinity for the game. Most avid golfer's will tell you that, in addition to a good challenge regarding hazards and shot placement, you will see some of the most picturesque scenery you have ever seen, let alone on a golf course. Taba, Egypt seems like an ideal location for a weekend excursion or perhaps a central point in a more broad traveling experience. No matter what brings you to Taba, you should stay for what it has to offer. - 29943
